DCFA Pakistan responds to PM statement about Milk Sale – Chemical Milk
According to a private television, Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that the milk being sold in Pakistan is not milk but washing machine milk or chemical milk. Dairy and Cattle Farmers Association President Shakir Umar Gujjar has reacted to the Prime Minister’s statement. Shakir Umar Gujjar says that the Prime Minister of Pakistan’s statement on the sale of milk is contrary to the facts. Fresh milk is obtained from cows and buffaloes across the country, the number of which is more than 80 million according to government data. This milk is obtained from traditional farming as well as commercial farming and corporate farming.
He further says that the government, instead of being part of the campaign against fresh milk, should control the import and alleged smuggling of substandard dry milk in the country. It should be noted that irresponsible statements against fresh milk are not promoting canned milk.
He further said that banning the sale of open milk under the guise of quality control will lead to the destruction of farmers as well as Pakistan’s economy. It should be the choice of the people whether to buy fresh milk or packaged milk.
The government’s job should not be to force the people to buy any one product in this regard, but to ensure the supply of quality milk. Instead of making irresponsible statements against fresh milk, the government should improve the performance of the provincial and provincial institutions related to livestock.
He said that if fake milk is being sold anywhere, the food authorities and other institutions should take action. Farmers across Pakistan will be with them.
