The blocking of the Facebook page of an organized and active organization of dairy farmers without any solid reason… Then the sudden emergence of a page full of likes… Then the uploading of videos against raw milk on this Facebook page… Then these videos being broadcast in the form of advertisements on the national media… Then a statement being made on the quality of raw milk from the highest level… Then the newspapers being full of news against raw milk… Then the actions of the Food Authority against dairy farmers coming to light… Then these small actions becoming the adornment of national media headlines… And then the continuation of the campaign… Is all this a coincidence?
Understanding the System
When there is no familiarity with the system and the ability to understand the forces behind the system, then even the most important events seem unimportant. Yes, but those who understand the system understand every card thrown and every trick played and are also realizing its consequences. These things are not that simple. Yes, but simple and innocent; and at the same time, they remain simple for self-interested and cunning people.

Policy Making and Professional Input
Let’s assume that all this is a coincidence and there is no interference from the powers that be, then what about professionals and their input in policy making! Unfortunately, the thinking of policy makers sitting in cold rooms also becomes cold and the slides running on multimedia in dim light also affect their ability to see.
We forget that people live far away from the lights of some big cities, shopping malls and carpeted roads full of cars, which is a very large part of Pakistan. In this class-based society, there is an upper middle class and a class below the middle class, which is unfortunately ignored in almost every policy.
These professionals, whom Allah Almighty gives the position to give their input somewhere and whose past is connected to the same class or a class close to it, for the sake of strengthening their position and expanding it, while agreeing with the relevant authorities of the time and their royal officers, take the same line that has nothing to do with the people of Pakistan and its real problems.
Public Priorities and Selective Concern
Water, which is the basic need of every person, is not even suitable for humans, let alone animals. But there is no feeling. Treatment facilities, which are directly related to human suffering, the condition of hospitals is in front of us. But there is no feeling. Many education systems and a severely deteriorated government education system. But there is no feeling. Then when the rulers and their royal officers think about the health of the people in the matter of milk and are worried about its quality. Then there is definitely a feeling that someone else’s feeling is behind this feeling.
Quality Control Versus Campaigns
There is no two opinions that the quality of milk should be checked and strict action should be taken against those who adulterate milk. Along with this, strictest measures should be taken against those who make fake milk and run fake milk plants. But unfortunately, this does not happen. Instead of identifying these plants and cracking down on them, a campaign is started here against fresh milk and then various tactics are used to harass dairy farmers and suppliers.
Keeping Every Class in Mind
Policy makers should be made to realize that while making any decision, along with the lower middle class and lower class, this class should also be kept in mind which is not considered a class and whose size is much, much larger than the rest of the classes.
Banning open milk sales will strengthen fake milk makers and it will be difficult for institutions to check the investors who come behind it because there is no law for the powerful in Pakistan. Yes, the question is how the government can improve the quality of milk, it is possible, but the intention must be right for this.
Measures to Improve Milk Quality
The relevant institutions will have to be mobilized by prioritizing the livestock sector. Adopting a zero tolerance policy on fake milk manufacturing units, they will have to be completely shut down and those associated with them will have to be severely punished. Along with banning the import and alleged smuggling of substandard dry milk, institutions will have to be brought into action against dry milk sold in open shops.
Production audits of milk processing and packaging companies will have to be conducted to find out where all the milk sold in packets comes from. Most importantly, the principle of government determination of prices on milk sales will have to be abolished. Along with this, food authorities and related institutions will have to responsibly devise a permanent system to check the quality of all types of milk sold in the market.

Ignoring all these measures, campaigning only against real, fresh and open milk obtained from animals and making irresponsible statements about it will not improve the quality of milk, but it will definitely strengthen those forces that want to eliminate the real milk market and replace it.
